According to reports Activision Blizzard plans to announce a large number of job cuts as they try and restructure their assets. Reports suggest the official announcement will be made during their earnings call on February 12, 2019.
With bad news usually comes more bad news, with news of job cuts it can’t get any better as the company’s share price has now dropped by 7.6% which will only aggravate the situation further. The recent controversial split with Bungie is estimated to reduce the companies revenue by up to $400 million and because of this Activision’s 2019 sales are expected to drop by roughly 2 percent overall.

We hope the number of people affected will be minimal, however, if reports from Jason Schreier of Kotaku are to be believed the number of affected employees could be widespread as people in various departments don’t know if they will lose their job or not, and that is a frightening thought.
