With the 2019 Formula 1 season now in full swing we turn our attention to the next game adaption from Codemasters. The F1 2019 video game releases at the end of this month with many improvements, and fan-requested content that will make this year’s edition even more special and closer to the real experience than ever before.
F1 2019 releases worldwide on Friday, 28 June 2019. The date coincides with the start of the Austrian Grand Prix and marks a release two months earlier into the Formula 1 campaign compared to previous editions, which makes sense as most F1 fans would love to play it while the first half of the season is still ongoing.
Codemasters has also revealed that one of the most requested features and modes will be coming to F1 2019, the F2 Championship will be in the game as well as legends Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost will be given their own game mode, the multiplayer will have its own car with custom additions.
“We’re extremely excited to be bringing F2 to the franchise,” said F1 franchise director, Paul Jeal. “It’s consistently been one of the most requested features from our community and it comes at a perfect time with the top three drivers from 2018 in George Russell, Lando Norris, and Alexander Albon progressing to F1 for this season. We can’t wait to unveil more details on how this is integrated into the career mode in the coming weeks.”
Much improved UI and Graphics
Codemasters has done an overhaul of the main menu, making it easier for you to pick your game mode and view the cars that you will be driving. As with most sports titles you are looking for as much realism as possible, so the graphical improvements in the 2019 version are great, as you can see in the images below the surrounding buildings and greenery have received a massive upgrade.
Codemasters has taken a big step forward in career mode to make it more engaging and dynamic. It starts with three challenges in the 2018 F2 Championship where you will race alongside Alexander Albon, George Russell, and Lando Norris as well as two rivals, one antagonistic driver and a more friendly, teammate rival.
These 5 drivers will follow you up to F1 for the 2019 season, creating a journey for the player that builds into a far more legitimate rivalry than previous F1 games.
