Back in March, we reported that SuperSport in partnership with Ginx.tv will be broadcasting international tournaments as well as local gaming events like the rAge Expo among others. Now we have some news regarding upcoming content to launch on 1 May and will be broadcast throughout the coming weeks.
WEEKLY SHOWS CONFIRMED
SuperSport have confirmed live content will be broadcast on SuperSport throughout the week with the popular live magazine show “The Bridge” set to broadcast on Thursdays at 10 pm SAST. SuperSport previously covered eSports but on a smaller scale, when SuperSport covered the re-broadcast of the IEM World Championship from Poland, however now SuperSport is entering live gaming on a daily basis.
Gideon Khobane, CEO of SuperSport said: “The deal is a massive leap forward and signals our intention to embrace the newest sport out there. It’s just been added to the programme for the 2018 Asian Games, so it’s a giant in the making. There is a real buzz around eSport and we want to be part of that.”
Michiel Bakker, CEO of Ginx eSports TV, commented: “It’s an exciting time to be launching in a country with such a rapidly growing eSport scene. Ginx eSports TV will provide South African fans with the biggest and best events from around the globe.”
Ginx eSports TV will be available to stream on DStv Now and supersport.com from 1 May 2017.
